Here at Howley Hall Golf Club, we are committed to introducing the game of golf to as many people as possible and ensure sustained participation through coaching programmes, support and memberships here at the golf club.
The coaching programmes that we run are aimed at golfers of all ages and abilities. All equipment will be provided during the sessions as well as the expertise of our team of PGA Golf Professionals. During the sessions, the pupils will learn the basic fundamentals of golf in a fun and informative environment which will also encourage competitive situations throughout and we hope to continue the pupil’s participation in the sport here at the golf club.
Pupils will learn to compete as a team and individually as well as learning key life skills such as fair play, honesty, respect and display a good attitude in both winning and losing situations. This is all part of the Junior Golf Passport scheme which we run at the club through the golf foundation.
Offer to Schools:
As part of our aim to introduce the game throughout South Yorkshire, our professionals will come into all schools and provide a free 1 hour coaching taster session to children. We offer follow up sessions which can be funded by the school at a cost of £25 per session or four sessions for £90
For our junior golfers, we run the junior golf passport scheme and as a registered partner of the golf foundation, a HSBC Golf roots centre and recipient of the golf mark award, we feel that we offer the best provision for junior development in the area.
When delivering sessions in schools and colleges, we use TriGolf and Street Golf equipment which is specifically designed for certain ages of golfer to ensure that the games and activities undertaken can be performed safely.
Inclusive Golf Leeds
Our inclusive golf sessions have proved extremely popular both in schools and here at the golf club. Our work with West Yorkshire Sport and The Golf Foundation has led to weekly sessions being conducted here at the club and funding provided to go into local school, colleges and community centres to encourage further participation.
