Disability Talent ID Workshop on Tuesday 1st October 2019

  • The talent ID workshop provides an insight into Para Football Talent ID, raising candidates awareness of this area of work and providing useful tips for identifying players within their local environments. The workshop will demonstrate examples of high performance in Para Football and how candidates can get involved in this area of the game.

 

  • Powerchair Football – Part 1: Teaching the basics on Tuesday 12th November 2019

    • This CPD event will offer an insight into the game of Powerchair football. Coaches will be able to interact with Powerchair football coaches and players and learn the techniques of the game. This will include passing, shooting, defending, dribbling, ball control and match play. The session will start at 6.30pm with a demonstration of the game for visiting coaches to observe and build a range of questions regarding the game and techniques required to play the game. The remainder of the session will be broken down into 4 sections running concurrently showing the different techniques and skills, how players learn and how coaches need to adapt to meet the player’s needs. The practical sessions will run until 8.30pm when a Q&A session will be held plus if time allows a chance for coaches to have a go. Coaches are expected to interact by offering progressions within the session and reflecting on their own experiences to affect their coaching when working with players with a disability.

 

  • Powerchair Football – Part 2: Advanced skills and set plays on Wednesday 4th March 2020

    • This CPD event will offer an enhanced insight into the game of Powerchair football. Coaches will be able to interact with Powerchair football coaches and players, learn advanced skills, design/develop specific restarts and set plays of the game. This will include passing, shooting, defending, restarts from sidelines, corners situations defending and attacking, free-kicks attacking and defending and general match play. The session will start at 6.30pm with a short demonstration of the game for visiting coaches to observe and build a range of questions regarding the game and techniques required to play the game. The remainder of the session will be broken down into 2 sections running concurrently showing the different techniques and skills, how players learn and how coaches need to adapt to meet the player’s needs. The practical sessions will run until 8.30pm when a Q&A session will be held plus if time allows a chance for coaches to have a go. Coaches are expected to interact by offering progressions within the session and reflecting on their own experiences to affect their coaching when working with players with a disability
