Coaching Deaf Footballers Course

@: Middleton Leisure Centre in Leeds

Date: Sunday 27th January

Time: 9:30am-5pm

The purpose of this course is to provide you with ideas and guidance on how to adapt, where necessary, to include deaf players in your sessions and match situations in your school or club. By the end of the course you should be able to:

  • Apply and extend your coaching skills to meet the needs of deaf players

  • Feel confident when coaching deaf footballers

  • Have improved their awareness of deafness and a better understanding of the needs of deaf footballers

  • Use basic communication skills for coaching deaf footballers

  • Use basic BSL signs appropriate to coaching and football sessions

  • Plan a range of coaching sessions that include deaf footballers

The course costs £40 and covers both theory and practical elements.

West Riding County FA have set up this Turn Up and Play Centre with Leeds United Foundation to create opportunities for Women with a disability to get involved with football as there is currently no provision for this in the West Riding area.

Sessions will take place 1pm-2pm at West Riding County Football Association, Fleet Lane, Woodlesford, Leeds, LS26 8NX on the following dates:
