The JESS Sports Cluster Sports Hall Athletics Heats were fiercely contested between the 5 primary schools on each evening. However, both the Shield and Trophy line-ups had to be decided.

Our Shield Final was contested by the following primary schools; Sharp Lane, Low Road, Beeston Primary, Clapgate and New Bewerley. With all pupils guaranteed at least a Sportshall Athletics Certificate, the competition started the medals and the winner’s trophy! After an hour of close competition the results were; leaving in 3rd place with the bronze medals were Clapgate, in a close 2nd place with silver medals were Low Road and finally in 1st place leaving with the gold medals andthe JESS Sports Cluster SHA Shield were Beeston Primary!

On the second finals evening, attending the JESS Cluster SHA Trophy Final were; Hunslet St Joseph’s, Ingram Road, Park View, Windmill and Hunslet Carr. Similarly to the previous evening, all pupils were assured a SHA Certificate. As the results came in, the league table ebbed and flowed but after the final indoor javelin was thrown, the results were in. Taking the bronze medals home, finishing in 3rd place were Ingram Road. There was a very close battle for the gold medal, with just 2 points deciding the overall winner. Finishing in a very, very close 2nd place, leaving with the silver medals were, Hunslet Carr. Therefore, the gold medallists and winners of the JESS Sports Cluster SHA Trophy Final were… Hunslet St Joseph’s!

A massive congratulations to the 10 schools and all the pupils who competed throughout the SHA events, there was plenty of fantastic performances on show!
