LEEDS SSP School Games X-Country Final

DATE: 2nd March 2017

YR GROUP: 4/5/6

VENUE: Middleton Park - Clearing

LEEDS S&C SSP SCHOOLS ENTERED: Carlton, Beeston, St Francis Assissi, Hunslet Car, Thorpe, Rothwell, Westwood, Westerton & St Philips Primary

MASSIVE ‘Thank You’ and ‘Well Done’ to all children who took part in the Leeds Primary Schools Cross Country Final at Middleton Park today, the pupils did AMAZING and all ran so well!  We had close to 700 young people taking part in the races which is fantastic; there were over 100 pupils in each race. The weather was kind-ish too; some might say it was perfect cross-country weather J  I hope all the children had lots of fun; please find attached a Leeds Finals Participation Certificate for your schools to print out for your runners.

Special thanks to the Active School’s team and Bob Jackson (Leeds Athletics Network) who helped set up and marshal the course along with the Young Leaders from Leeds City College.  Without all these people working together, organising and running an event like this would be impossible, so thanks once again for all your help and support.

Please note, the top 5 placed teams in each category will now qualify to represent Leeds at the West Yorkshire Cross Country Final on Wednesday 15th March 2017 along with the top 10 placed individuals in each race (I have attached a letter FYI).  Please note if team runners also qualify as individuals this creates an extra qualification spot, therefore if a pupil from your school is listed in the individual results they have qualified for the West Yorkshire Final.

Successful schools at the West Yorkshire Final will qualify for the Nationals on Saturday 25th March 2017.  Please make a note of this date in your diary, just in case.

Thanks again for your continued support and your enthusiasm towards competition and school sport.  We will look forward to seeing you all next year.

Good Luck to all individuals and teams who have qualified for the West Yorkshire Final.  Come on Leeds!

I look forward to seeing you all at more events in the future.
